    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

Thanks for all the replies — genuinely! I’ve been looking on a few sites. None have a case like mine but some mention careless driving for one reason or another. Change of mind again… I’m going to leave the box blank. I’ll give them the information they need and then just await their reply...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

I think I’m just going to state I can’t fully recall the event, and wish to see evidence to ensure I don’t make false statements. I’m not going to put in a request separately as I’m going to play dumb — the letter mentions nothing about needing to do this. I’ll just tell them I need to see any...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

Thank you, that’s taught me some things I didn’t realise about the process. As you’ll imagine, my wanting to admit guilt now is based purely on trying to put this to bed ASAP. If I go with just stating the basics, to confirm it was me in the car, what do you think I should put in the final box...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

The date and time referenced is at exactly the time I know this event happened and the letter also states “preventing an overtake”. The model of Tesla it was is the same as a few friends I know with them. Theirs have 5 cameras for all-round visibility (front, side and rear). Ultimately it’ll...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

It asks for my account of the alleged event. I have to provide something.

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

I see what you’re saying, but it asks for my account of the events so it’ll be hard not to put something which doesn’t at least incriminate me. I don’t know how to word me pulling onto the other side of the road to prevent an overtake. I’d be confident in saying the prosecution relies entirely...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

With the help of a number of people on here, I’ve decided to just admit I was in the wrong (as I was). The road is a straight B road and I was not overtaking anything. The car is a Tesla and has multiple cameras so it’ll show plain as day what happened. I’ve got a clean license of over 15 years...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

No but it was a Tesla and they have multiple cameras. At this stage the letter is just asking to confirm my details before a potential prosecution. From the wording the local police force have not yet made a decision, but knowing what the cameras will have recorded it’s pretty obvious which way...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

I think I’ll re-write it and go with this. I am genuinely regretful about it, so I’ll just grovel to them. Do things like this go to court as standard?

No, written up and ready to send.

Sadly I cannot use this angle as their camera will prove otherwise. There was traffic ahead, but a good distance away.

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

For the record, I know I’m in the wrong and that my decision to prevent the overtake was foolish. I always just let these things play out, for some reason this just got to me. Worst of all it happened on my birthday..! The letter I’ve received states that I was reported for the “question of a...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

The letter is a notice of intended prosecution and is an application for my name and address. It says failure to comply with the request within 28 days may lead to proceedings being taken against me. I have to confirm I was driving and my basic details. It also offers a box to give my “side” of...

    Driving Offence — Intended Prosecution

Regrettably, I have been served a notice of intended prosecution for blocking an overtake. I’ll admit I’m in the wrong and I’m prepared to face the consequences, however I’d like to get an idea of what they may be. The letter from the police states driving “dangerously, carelessly or without...

    AC Delco Mechanical Fuel Pump

Thanks for that, I do actually have them as part of the refurb kit I mentioned earlier, but it's good to know they're available on their own -- might prove useful should I successfully replace them and want to overhaul the spare pumps I have as well.

    AC Delco Mechanical Fuel Pump

Thank you, I will inspect it on the bench at the weekend and look at doing this. I do want to give it a go to maintain originality and just for the achievement factor. Rimmer Bros. have actually got back to me and said they don't stock any Rootes stuff, but the one in your link looks right --...

    base for lean to shed

Sorry if you stated that and I missed it! The intermediate posts can definitely be cut down with a grinder. If not those, maybe look at lintels. Ones that width would only have a single rebar in the middle.

    AC Delco Mechanical Fuel Pump

I saw the protruding metal, I will remove this with a Dremel or Stanley blade. If Rimmer Bros. sell them for that kind of price, it might be worth getting from them -- I was seeing NOS ones for £90 which I don't want. I can't find it on their website so will e-mail them now. Most things from...

    base for lean to shed

Yes they can be cut with a grinder if you have the suitable disc size and type, however why not buy 10ft posts? This will cover the whole length of your shed (at 3m long). At 60om wide, you could probably just use two posts -- intermediate posts are about 10cm wide so you would only have an...

    AC Delco Mechanical Fuel Pump

And for a long while, too I think. The old Willey's CJ2A jeeps used them in the 1940s. Latest installation from new I can find is on a late '60s Triumph Vitesse, with the final models replacing the glass bowl with metal. I say "them" because I don't know what this model is called! I think they...
