Where do you put stuff, to be handy?

It's interesting (keeping hold of stuff) and I suppose we all have different approaches. On the telly box a few years back I was watching one of these decluttering shows, so okay this was someone with a serious hoarding issue. Nevertheless, the 'expert' gave a general bit of advice to the...

Where do you put stuff, to be handy?

This is very true. Me old ma was needing a CR 2032 battery a few weeks back and I was pretty sure I had some in my man drawer. Which I did. With a use by date of 2015 on them :)

    Decaf Tea

Slightly OT, I drink Tetley Original but a few years back I also started to drink Tetley Green Tea. Typically, I have a cup of Original as my first tea of the day, then Green thereafter. Mind you I tend not to drink as many cups as some other folk. 3-4 a day would be typical for me.

Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

No need to be surprised, folk always make money on the markets (and many other ways) when something like this is kicking off.

    Has anyone any sympathy?

Very true. When scum commit such crimes, the fallout for both the victim/s family and the perpetrator's family can be huge. Multiple lives impacted to varying degrees.

    F1 2026

The vibrations in the Honda engine caused Aston Martin to do the lowest mileage of any team in pre-season testing and are likely to impact the team's potential to finish Sunday's season-opening Australian Grand Prix. "That vibration into the chassis is causing a few reliability problems," Newey...

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

Maybe the citizens should be told 'you're taking that job, or we're cutting your benefits'. Is it someone's right to remain on benefits and turn down jobs they are physically and mentally capable of doing? Even if just as a stop gap job until they get into the job/career of their choice. Nah...

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

Come to Britain, welcome one and all. Don't worry, we'll give you a job even though many of our own people are not working. Here illegally? Don't worry, we're giving you £10k a piece to leave. And yes, we know you might come back. Farce.

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

Care home jobs sometimes fall into this bracket. You want 'em working with our elderly?

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

Eh? What roles would they be suitable for then? If we know nowt about their past, their mental history, any possible criminal record on their own country etc, what roles do we want them to fill?

Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

God doesn't exist. If it did, why didn't it knock the missile off course that was heading for the girls school. No question mark as it's a rhetorical point. Oh wait that's right, humankind has been given free will. We are masters of our own destiny etc. So what's the point in God then. Again...

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

On Debate Night this week (think Scottish QT) Lorna Slater from Scottish Greens was bleating on about letting these illegals work. Along the lines of 'we should be letting them work, give them jobs, that way they are contributing, paying tax, and feel like members of the community!!!'...

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

So the part of the plan about giving families up to £40k isn't true?

    Starmer's treachery

We've pared back our armed services as have most European countries and now, in a scenario where the proverbial could hit the fan, we are left exposed. Great forward planning by our inept politicians. And to think, the Greens and SNP up here would love to do away with our nuclear deterrent.

(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

What do we think of this? I just think it smacks of yet another gimmick that isn't addressing the root issues. There is an argument that, pound for pound, it's a cheaper option for the taxpayer. On a phone-in today someone said it'll just be used by asylum seekers to make some £££ i.e...

Richard Tice and Isobel Oakshott move to Dubai

I'm surprised any of these 'celebs' and 'influencers' want to come back here. After all they think it (the UK) is an unsafe sh1thole, so I'm assuming any that are leaving Dubai will be going elsewhere until it's safe for them to return to Dubai? As for Oakshott, she amongst others are hunkering...

The older I get the more I dislike people

Years back I was standing outside a store on a retail park waiting for it to open, I think it had closed during the day for staff training or something. A few of us had gathered waiting. Right beside us was a disabled parking bay. A Range Rover parked in it, two women got out, possibly mother...

Boil in the bag cremation anyone?

Don't tell anyone, however I've heard Universal Studios, who are building a new theme park in England, are very keen to have an attraction based on you and your life to date. If they can get you to agree, my understanding is it will be a 4D attraction. Guests will be able to see, hear, touch...
