Do YOU have a boiler in a cupboard?

My favourite is walking back the washing machine into position after some one has washed and spun dry bed pillow on 1200 spin.

    motorised valve

How do you have a three way valve without a room stat? I don't see the point of having the valve if it's not controlled.

Have you remembered to turn the thermostat up, wherever that is located, hall!

Sofia Monobloc Tap; how do you replace the ceramic valves

Previous post trying to get parts, beware! There is a small hex screw on the handle in the front. B&Q are useless to get the valves. ' We only sell the tap complete' standard reply. I used the standard 'one size fits all' replacement ones from B&Q, but did not fit, couldn't be bothered to...

    Galvanised water tank

They eventually rust through. Putting that into perspective, my dear old mum has lived in her place for 60 years and has got a galv cold storage tank in the loft. So I wouldn't rush to replace it. £300 would cover it all including draining down etc., most times the old galv tank will...

    Price of fire wood?

That's just what I needed when Mrs tryitandsee was having ours  Regards the wood, fantastic idea, you can as you have said, add solar and other alternatives later. Depending on what size logs you can take, most tree surgeons will happily dump the larger size logs off in...

Some where in this sentence must lie the problem. Mixing pumped hot and mains cold is not a good idea. You say the mains pressure to the house is poor. May be the pumped hot pressure is stronger than the cold mains, with a faulty shower mixer valve (or even one or both of the basin mixer...

Was no hot water now its hot water no radiators ..

Sounds like the actuator head was changed and not the whole valve. www.heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk/honeywell-40003916003-v4073a-replacement-powerhead-p-86.html They are £65 and yours was exchanged for a compatable one for £37, despite you asking for branded one! Perhaps the...

Atmos - take heat from land rover and stores in home

As long as enough heat is left to transfer along to the diesel particulate filter, as that is now causing problems in itself.

Atmos - take heat from land rover and stores in home

Good concept, but I can't find on the link what size and weight the heat store under the car would need to be. I'm not sure if we have found anything that small and lightweight that could do that.

http://net.grundfos.com/Appl/WebCAPS/custom?search=UP,%20UPS%20Series%20100&userid=GMA&lang=ENU For the cost of a new pump, it's worth just replacing like for like. Follow the Grunfos web site for help. (Gundfos have made their web site more complicated by the looks of things)...

Nearly getting there :) Doitall or Agile. can the introduction of non return valves on the showers help in this situation, if the shower mixers are the problem?

Stuart Turner Monsoon Universal 4 bar twin - HUNTING

I admire your have a go attitude to all this. I reckon the head of water in the hot water pipe work above and away from the pump is falling back/weeping very slightly through the non return valve, the pressure switch being very sensitive activates pump. Give Stuart Turner...

Brown flakes appearing in tap water

That's a shame. Text taken from internet regarding colour etc, but I don't think that is your case, as the other cold tank fed taps would be affected. I suspect the cold supply to your basin mixer tap is getting warm, either by transfer of heat from the hot supply pipe running next to it or...

Not ignoring the central heating for a moment. Is it a heat only boiler gravity fed with indirect cylinder or combination boiler (on 2nd floor) I'm just trying to make sure the expansion tank (if you have one) cold supply for the central heating, is not pumped.
