Kitchen sink sealent foam strip too 'springy'?

Advice on dodgy cooker hood extraction installation

Where are you measuring this? 125mm inside diameter is very likely to be 130mm outside diameter. BTW I did exactly this job myself but I stitch-drilled it as I couldn't really justify acquiring a 125mm drill.

Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator Water Filter - Part no 847200

    1. Take a picture of the filter and do a Google image search. Maybe it's not a unique part. 2. Just use a filter jug, then you're not tied in.

    Make a toaster go "ping"

How would you go about making a toaster go "ping" when the timer is up? I have a Dualit toaster which has a large empty space at the end where the controls are. There is a neon which is on whilst the timer is running, which could be tapped for power. Then when power goes away, actuate a bell...

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

Unlikely. The point is that BT are trying to close ~80% of their exchange locations. An all-fibre access network will mean that they only need 1000 exchanges nationwide. Keeping exchanges open to serve a handful of copper users is wasteful. If you move the equipment that serves dialtone from the...

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

The user base for copper voice services is dying out. The cost per copper voice line is only going up, so everybody else will have to subsidise this.

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

Not quite nothing, see pcaouolte's post. They have to tell everybody to dial full numbers now. A dull, technical thing happening in the background is being spun as a wonderful new dawn for humanity!
