Out of interest have you seen the mouldings made by a company called Emafyl, although not plaster, they are very light to use and are easily fitted using a 'no more nails' type of adhesive. I bought mine from - http://www.thefasciaplace.co.uk/Content/Mouldings.htm they might be worth looking...
