I think I'll put the new insulation on and save up for a new cylinder. It's almost 30 years old, so I suppose I should get a new one anyway. Thanks for the advice.

:lol: That's how I noticed it, I was changing the jacket. I'm waiting to find out what that stuff is before I put the new one on. Does it look serious? What's that green and white stuff around the pipe?

Could someone have a look at these pictures of my immersion heater and tell me what they think? It's in it's late twenties, so I don't know if this is age or something worth worrying about. Thanks.
