It's another option, and I'll look into it. We're in the strange situation of the side of our house butting straight up against Council land. An external flue fixed to the side of our house would overhang their land. There may, or may not be a problem... Thanks for your help and ideas.

Hi Guys I ran the 'Heat hot water' cycle for 5 minutes, and had a manic time under the stairs - sticking red and blue stickers on pipes. From this, I was able to print off my last pics of pipes, and colour them in - inexpertly - need a 3 year old - red pipes hot, green pipes still cold...

Re the Grant oil pump... Grant has found that the pumps supplied from their manufacturer in China have faults. I feel confident that all reading this, haven't had the surprise of their lives. They're not sure whether it's the materials, or the design, but have changed everything internally...
