hi mate thanks for getting back to me i want to put a bedroom upstairs,but i had a look at a garage on sunday,same size as mine and he fitted 18 ft x 9x3,but cost £1000 :( :(

ok guys shall i send back the 9x2 and get a bigger timber? and what i dont understand,if i build the floor joist into the blockwork then a block on top,then a wall plate for the rafters,now because the joist and rafters are not nailed or bolted what will stop the weight of the roof from...

yeh,you dont know what to do for the best,i dont want the roof to be week so what is the best way and right timber to use,i just looked at the plans again and its 225x50 which i think is 9.5x1.5 inch

didnt know they did them?and never seen anything like that over here in ireland what way would you build it,not sure i trust the way they do things over here

yeh not to to happy that way now ive been thinking about it do you think i should do it the otherway,with a wall plate on top of joist then bolt the rafters onto the ends it should still give me some room upstairs plus be a better job?

well,am over here in ireland building a house for myself which is almost done now just started the block work and up to 11 blocks high,looking at a garage the otheday,they have the floor timer on the 11th block then block inbetween them,then two more on top then fit a wall plate ive got pics...

one more thing,is it ok for the raffters not to be conected to the floor timers,so i can get a bit more head space upstairs

well its just under 18ft wide,its only going to be a guest room with only a bed at top

right ok,leave the combi then but with the pellet boilers you need abig space to store the pellets anyother you can think of?
