    job pricing

I have been asked to quote on a large ish new / re-wire and they want a price for labour only on a per item basis. Does anyone know of a good reference for these prices as I've worked it out roughly on time but want to check against other sources. Thanks, Mark.

Cooker Hob and oven on seperate circuits

Just so you know what we are on about with the parallel circuits thing, its because if you send, for example, 50A down two different sized conductors the load will split, albeit un-evenly, between them and you would risk the smaller conductor over heating and setting fire to your home.

Cooker Hob and oven on seperate circuits

The hob seams fine as it is on the old cooker circuit (get it checked as it is old). Definite no no on a "parallel circuit" if you blue a fuse on one circuit the other would still be live and overloaded. A new circuit would be best, but you could ask your electrician if they...

3p&n suppy rcd protect to steam generator

Thanks for replies. I also thought I could run new tails from switch disc to separate rcbo box, but it makes things untidy. I'll see what space I have left on the wall in the morning.

3p&n suppy rcd protect to steam generator

As for the rcbo it can't go in the main board as the neutral would be on the next L1 phase pin. But I could use an rcbo remote instead of the rccb.

3p&n suppy rcd protect to steam generator

I have to supply 3 phase and neutral, rcd protected, to a steam generator from a non rcd 3 phase board. Do you agree i should use a 3 pole mcb and then fit a 30ma 4 pole rccb remote to the main board or can anyone think of a better method ? Thanks, Mark.

Plasterboard socket box when to install?

I know what you mean if you move them to much the plaster will crack, but plasterers usually skim quite thin at the boxes (almost flush to front) and even if you have to take the box out, as long as you are careful not to do to much damage you will have a nice flush recess for the box to go back...

Plasterboard socket box when to install?

I always try to put them in first to keep them flush (ask the plasterer to be nice to them) . And as long as you take care at second fix it will give a better finish.

    Buderus DHW sensor position

Has anyone fitted a Buderus low voltage sensor (fitted to modulink board) to a cylinder in the normal two thirds position and then found they had to set the DHW temp on the boiler to 40 to keep the water from getting to hot. If anyone has and can remember how they did it? Or is the sensor...
