I doubt that would be strong enough to last. The place it fitted was strengthened with wee walls to locate the captive nut. Unfortunately thats buggered. I have wrapped a few elastic bands around it for now and the kids are not complaining to I will leave if now and keep looking of a bargain...

The thin metal handle is snapped off, damaging the ring and making it impossible to reattach. The shower still works but its hard to turn off with wet hands without the handle. It's in the kids bathroom so they may just have to live with it and I will keep trawling ebay for a used part. Edit...

Do you mean that rental agencies require certain electrical measures before they will list a property? For the last 8 years, it was an Airbnb. Before that, it was long-term lets but we never used an agency.
