    Overflowing system

Hi Sorry for typing the message in twice, I lost the first thread somehow. My computer crashed about the same time it was sent in and it claimed I had never sent the message! Computers! My husband tells me that he has set the ball valve to the lowest that it goes, and it refuses to shut...

    Overflowing cistern

I have a cistern that is repeatedly overflowing out down the wall into the garden (useful for watering plants but its upsetting the neighbours with the limescale deposits it leaves on their windows!) My husband changed the ball valve on it last year and set the new plastic one to the lowest...

    Overflowing system

My cistern is overflowing and leaking out into the back garden (better there than the house!) My husband changed the ball valve and adjusted the screw so the water storage level was as low as possible, and it worked....for about a month! Its getting worse than it used to be, although it stops...

    Hot, cold and rusty radiators

So would that end up as one per hot tap? At £30 a pop thats quite a bit - could get the gas guy back to fix the temperature right for the amount of taps we would need in this house (three storey town house!) If its only one we could do it ourselves ok, if they come with detailed instructions!

My husband said much the same thing about the gas man, cheque in the pocket etc. I didn't see what they guy did to the...

    Hot, cold and rusty radiators

The only thing that is a third of the way up near the cylinder (assuming you mean the thing in the airing cupboard at the top of the house) is a little box with the letters W M H with a little lever. There is nothing on the cylinder or the boiler in the kitchen that can tell me a temperature...

    Hot, cold and rusty radiators

There doesn't seem to be any sort of temperature gauge on the whole of our heating system - I have no idea what temperature it is at, but it scalded my sons hand this afternoon while he was messing around with the taps. I do know that its at the lowest part of the dial that fires up the gas...

    Hot, cold and rusty radiators

I have a lot of radiator problems! First off we have a rusty radiator I want to clean up and repaint - I have a hammerite rust beater, but it says I can't use it on certain metals - being a bit useless, I don't know what my radiator is made from. We also have a variety of badly behaving...
