    I can push the switch a little further and the light does indeed go out then. And!... the water comes out hotter.I've noticed that the piston mechanism moves the whole switch assembly up slightly when it activates. Is this the problem? What would be a good fix to stabilise it? Great explaining...

    Hang on, the power was on but I hadn't actually turned the shower on. I'll go back and check that... The switch does work and I can see the switch behind moving up but I can't see a difference with the change of power setting. I'm not sure how to look for that. Can you advise further...

    I've not had the cover off yet because I'm not sure how to test for the signs that you mention. If you've time, could you outline a procedure assuming I've already removed the cover and turned the mains off of course. Thanks again ..

    the water flow is ok even though the low pressure light is on but the water has stopped heating up. If you turn the flow right down on the maximum heat setting, the water warms very slightly. Can anyone help, please?
