    Drilling tiles for outside tap

    >16mm dry diamond core drill and a wooden jig to start it for the tile, then standard SDS for the wall, shouldn't crack the tile.

    Speedfit and WRAS confusion

If it's been made to comply with BS EN 7291 parts 1, 2, 3 and S then that standard's been approved by WRAS, that and it's a BS EN standard so I would be happy with that all day long. Again though, not sure what the issues is? Given what it's used for then I wouldn't have an issue using any...

    Speedfit and WRAS confusion

As suggested though, in the data form from JG - it states it's suitable for hot and cold water as well as CH, therefore I would presume from that it should then comply, though in other blurb is does say it's just for CH. You could be correct where the types of EDPM rubber used isn't WRAS...

    Speedfit and WRAS confusion

Look at JG's data sheet for the fitting rather than the web page - web pages can be wrong, data sheet normally aren't - It is classed as being suitable for Hot/Cold and CH systems Guess the question is why worry. A drain off, by it's very purpose, won't be carrying water that is then to be used...

Wall radiators – worth fitting or outdated?

Given you are in the US (this is a UK based site) then the types of radiators may be different than here in the UK, so couldn't be completely sure. If they are similar to the convecting type panel rads as in the pic below - these are Type 22 - K2's that have 2 panels and 2 rows of convecting...

Why does my kitchen waste always block?

Probably due to the waste pipe being clogged up and it doesn't take much for it to block. Fill the sink with boiling water and soap and let it go, do that a few times. Alternatively get the pipework apart and inspect/clean out.

Lovely part of the world, fab beach and a great links course.

Change from System and tank to Combi

Only reason that has happened is if it wasn't installed properly to start with or it hasn't been properly maintained by a resource that actually knows how to look after it correctly. These types of system have been in place, trouble free, for decades so there's no reason yours shouldn't be fault...

    Poor hot water system.

1st thing first, they need to find out what the mains dynamic pressure and flow is from the mains at peak hours, as it enters the property. Without knowing that then any advice would just be a guess. If pressure and flow are poor then yes either correctly designed stored hot and cold suitably...

Shower sealant leaking after 3 months - will it just happen again?

The gap shouldn't make much difference, apart from the fact that whoever fitted it couldn't do the job properly. As long as the the frame is actually sitting on the tray edge and sealed then it should be ok. The riser kit will probably mean that the tray can move and flex though when in use...

    Acces boss

BTW if it's a sink waste (kitchen) then it'll be a 40mm waste pipe, not 32mmm - 32mm is typically for bathrooms and basins.

Is there a size on the cap? A 1 1/2" female compression adapter may fit?

Indirect unvented cylinder with 15 litre flow?

Exactly right , mains dynamic pressure and flow is key. As mentioned, you can only get out what goes in.

Poor flow rate (cold) at one end of house compared to another

No and you're right, if the Quooker is on it's own feed off that pipe and the isolator is on that feed pipe, then just turning that off shouldn't effect the other outlets but it's the only thing that's changed so that would be the starting point for fault finding

Poor flow rate (cold) at one end of house compared to another

If the flow was fine before and then it suddenly dropped after some work was performed then that usually points towards something having changed when the work was done.

    Kitchen undersink Dishwasher connection

Sorted - Only thing I would add is the drain hose should be up and over the top of the cabinet and down into the spigot rather than coming up from below. That minimises the chance of water from the sink entering the hose and running down into the appliance or if the waste pipe blocks and it...

Indirect unvented cylinder with 15 litre flow?

Even though they're a local trade unfortunately there's really no way they can know if the supply is adequate or not without testing, that's not a good starting point. Get the transporter out to check the mains flow and pressure at the toby, that'll provide the correct starting point and...
