    Vintage mixer tap refurb

That would be the logical conclusion if you are sure there is no screw to undo. Could be a very tight fit if there is limescale in there, or a decayed O-ring.

    Bath tap issue

Yes. The band would counter the Coanda effect.

    Bath tap issue

As a temporary bodge you could put a rubber band round the tap to provide a barrier for the water.

    Toilet handle not level

If the piston is sticking, perhaps the lifting wire is not aligned correctly? You should be able to shorten (or bend) the wire if necessary.

Trying to remove seized flush Arm

Clamp the bar with mole-grips or similar, near side of the orange arm, then use a scredriver blade between the grips and the arm to lever the arm away.

Shed build with doors at each end

If the doors opened outwards it would give more options for internal bracing/storage.

unusual tap cartridge (not 1/2" BSP)

Beware, those parts shown above also come in a range of sizes and it's not always clear from the Ebay ads what the sizes actually are.

How is water getting in my shed ?

Looks more like the timber has drawn the moisture upwards, by a wicking/capillary action.

    Artificial intelligence

I've been playing with AI recently (free versions) and had mixed results. ChatGPT's code for a spreadsheet macro was buggy, but DeepAI's photo editor produced some pleasing results when colourizing some old black-and-white pics. It did, however, add one or two 'enhancements' which weren't...

    Toilet seat fixings

I take it those aren't the original fixings? Perhaps you could mould some white settable substance to provide a flat mount for the fixings? I'd give a 0 out of 10 for the pan 'design' !

    Float valve? Help please

A possibility. The nut profile looks like it might be a Conex brand valve which, if I recall correctly, used to have a non-standard/Imperial thread.

Black waste bin lid collecting water

Our bin lid behaves much the same way. Also, it's cunningly designed so that lifting the lid to tip off the water results in water entering the bin via the hinge section!

How to stick fabric to plastic?

The size and weight of the flag will determine the best type of fixings to use. Also, is the flag likely to be exposed to high winds? Do the fastenings need to be removable?

Electric gate is catching the track at one end, gate gets stuck

Isn't the wheel then likely to come off the track? Can you adjust the wheel mounting so that the bottom of the gate is a tad higher above the track?
