The system is pretty black inside. Replaced all the pipework in it a few years back as I wasn't getting a good flow through the microbore that was originally on it. Had it last cleaned out a couple of years ago. Could be the issue here. Will try shutting off the radiators after work tomorrow...

Ah yes, when pushing diverter valve in manually the HW seems to work properly. Motor is getting correct voltage and works visually when removed from valve. I can also hear it actuating when conncted and stopping when it reaches its limit so it does seem to be working. Do I just buy a new motor...
