I'd happily leave it alone, especially as I'm mildly claustrophobic! However, it's in the way of installing some insulation between the floor joists. I've ordered a kit off Amazon. I'll let you know what they say.

I've just been under the floorboards of my 1930s semi and would like some advice on the old water mains insulation. I would like to make sure it's not asbestos. The first photo is a close up of a piece on the floor. The second is some of it still on the pipe. Many thanks in advance.
