Hi water meter is outside on the street, turning the water off at the stop valve under the kitchen sink.

The water main I think but the meter stops if I turn the water off. No central heating pipes.

No timber floors, living/dining room is laminate over concrete, hall is Victorian tiles I guess concrete underneath. No cellar.

So I'd be looking for a break in the dpm under the concrete in the living room. What about under the tiles in the hall? They're original what would be under them to stop damp?

There's no joists. It's straight onto the ground as far as I can tell. The wall between the living room and hall has a dpc done by a damp company in 2010. The wall between the hall and nextdoor has not as the gas pipe is there so can't easily be done, that wall is less damp. So would need to...

Hi, that's really helpful. I hadn't thought about the fire safety of an open plan staircase. You can exit from the first floor to the garden so possible it would t matter but I'll look into it.

I prefer it. Had similar in a previous house, liked to be able to see the kids. This house has nice gardens front and back so nice to be able to see both. There's another living room upstairs so still can be sepeoif wanted. The room at the back is a bit small with a kitchen in at the moment.

Hello, Its a supported bay window, sticks out about 1m from the house. Looks like it's falling to pieces and doesn't add much to the room it's in, probably blocks some light downstairs too. Any idea what it might cost to take out? Thanks
