    Disassemble Bed

Yeah I've tried all that. It's built from a Poliform Ando bed. ( Not made anymore ) The metal frame and components were salvaged but the headboard, timber frame and shelves were remade. Some more photos attached but really at this stage all I want to know is if I unscrew will the screws go back...

    Disassemble Bed

Ultimately everything can be undone but my question was always around reassembly. If the screws are threaded into wood I am afraid I won't get everything back together tightly. Will the screws grab tight a second time ? I am not familiar with all the types of screws and clamp fasteners. The...

    Disassemble Bed

No, it was a good few years ago, I don't have their contact details anymore and they closed their business and moved to another country !

    Disassemble Bed

Thanks. But dangerous to assume! It was actually made on site by a carpenter / veneer specialist. They used the template of an existing bought bed but they remade it in walnut / walnut veneer. So it isn't flat pack and definitely no delivery driver went near it!

    Disassemble Bed

Yeah that is obvious, unfortunately doesn't help me though. Coming apart isn't my main concern - I just have to keep unscrewing and I will find out what comes apart and what doesnt. The main question is - what is the risk of damage and risk of not getting it back together again.

    Disassemble Bed

Yes I know. I have never undone or put together something this big before hence my apprehension - don't want to cock it up and then someone says you should have done this or that ...

    Disassemble Bed

Does the fastener in the middle of the pic going into the frame look familiar to anyone - I am guessing it supports the floating shelf from the side ?

    Disassemble Bed

Ok thanks. I didn't want to overload the thread with photos but having said that, the photos probably show nearly all there is to see. In terms of moving it out of the room my main concern is the headboard with floating shelf, it weighs a ton. The other concern I have is will I be able to...

    Disassemble Bed

Hi, I want to put down new carpet and paint my bedroom. The bed is obviously an issue. It's very heavy for starters and I'll probably need to disassemble completely? Is it a case of unscrewing the frame from the headboard and then seeing what else I need to do. It's rock solid at the moment -...

    Back box screw

I could have and I am sure it would have worked but I had both sets of repair clips and the second type worked without any drilling so went with that.

    Back box screw

In the end I bought two sets of repair clips. The first one with the bend and toothed ends wouldn't fit because the brass element was slightly too big to fit in the existing hole. Apart from that it would have worked fine I believe. I could probably have drilled out the hole slightly but this...

    Back box screw

Can you tell me where you found them ? It's not the cost as others have suggested. I really don't want to go hacking at the plaster even if it could be improved. It actually looks ok once the switch is on. It's a tight space to work in, in a cupboard under the boiler with next to no light so...
