If you look at my latest image, do you think your cement method could work? I think the goal would be to create an even surface over the bumpy brick and plaster section.

The window sill platform is very uneven and bumpy. What's a way to even this out? The goal would be to create a smooth and even surface to place the sill on. I have been playing around with plastic shims, but it feels very non-ideal.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix the problem here? How might I fill this massive gap?

Some additional questions: Red Xs These little gaps had crumbly plaster (which I scraped off). What should I do about them? Blue X This horizontal section is bumpy and uneven. Should I just level it with shims and packers?

Is uPVC easy to cut to size?

I was thinking I could perhaps do a better job of it and seal it better etc. Do you have an alternative suggestion?

I think a gate is preferable for security. The top section is loose. Therefore, I think I have to deal with it. It's not gonna fall of, as such, but with a hefty push it might.
