The process to get the inspection notes is in place. Has anybody received them since requesting the notes via the portal?

    Building control firm liquidation

I am glad for you. I am going through hell with my council inspector. I guess it is like a lottery! My extension just needed one more inspection but council inspector made me open plasterboards to see steals, dig foundations, remove soakaway, etc …. And yes I had pictures! Then he only works 3...

    PIR walls insulation loose...nightmare

I agree. Using ecotherm calculator online or even the one at changeplan doesn't help as these tools can't cope with my situation. I am planning to call ecotherm technical team tomorrow, maybe they will have an option for me and do calculations with internal insulation addition for my case. I am...

    PIR walls insulation loose...nightmare

Ground floor still had walls cavity exposed around bi-folds. Punching holes from outside is not ideal (rendering done all around) or even not possible (one side of the extension is less than 50mm from neighbor garage wall.)

    PIR walls insulation loose...nightmare

Thanks for highlighting the damp transferring risk. Will it also affect the u-value calculations? Yes about the builder rectifying it but I am trying to understand 1) if it can be rectified 2) the best way to rectify it (fastest). There is a back extension, a two floor side extension and loft...

    PIR walls insulation loose...nightmare

Hello experts! Average home owner here, knows little about building and insulation. Large home extension being done (Half way through). External walls with blocks inside, and outside (rendered), 100mil cavity, 90mil PIR insulation boards (Ecotherm), 10 mil air gap. u-value = 0.17 (Ecotherm...
