    Taking out a Newel post for Sofa. Plz help

    Okay lads, I’ve ordered a sofa and it has arrived. But my narrow new build stairsdoes not accommodate it. Can I cut out this newel post so it bends around? Attached/below. My only other option is to take out a full double window frame, which sounds a lot of hassle.
