I found one of these and decided it would be easier. Earth is now, I hope, terminated correctly as well. All tested and works well although it's on a dimmer switch and that doesn't work, but presumably that could be the actual bulbs?

Yeah, its really poor wiring from the ceiling light. Cheap. Although the light was NOT cheap. OK, so I need to take one of the lives frm the ceiling and connect one of the black neutrals opposite in in the junction? But I just need to test which black is designated live with a tester?

The fuse tripped out on the breaker. I thin ki need to feed one of the neutral cables in with the live to make this work?

Hi, I'm a bit of an amateur here so this is no doubt a silly question. I am simply trying to connect a ceiling light to the mains. There seems to be 2 ring mains. Please see picture attached but I thought that using this connector junction box I could simply combine the 2 live and neutral ring...
