We have a basic combi vaillant ecotec boiler The kids broke the thermostat today. I looked up on Amazon. I’d like to get a smart thermostat. Are there any considerations? I’ve seen a cheap Chinese one for £50. It looks smart. Or am I better of going for a well known brand? Thanks.

The best price seems to be amazon for M8 90mm bolts. I can't find this length anywhere else. Ebay expensive. Temu more expensive than amazon. I wanted to buy a pack of 100. Thanks.

I've got a file set for about £4 from screw fix They're absolutely tiny! I need something with a handle else will be a long time filing. I need to file down 6 holes

I'm putting together a metal exercise frame. 2 parts won't align. I can't push down any further. Guessing it's a manufacturing fault. I can't send back. See pic below. Any ideas how to fix? I thought of drilling. Then I thought filing would solve. I don't have a metal file though!

I've discovered plastic welders. These are brilliant and let you weld what looks like a zizag upside down staple. There are pins left that you have to get rid of. You can use a tool to snap off 95%, but the are left with a nasty sharp bit of the pin sticking out. What can I use to get rid of...
