    thanks. out of curiosity, if the kitchen flooring had been continuous through to the living room, why would that have made a difference to the solution?

    the flooring you can see is in the kitchen only. the lounge side is carpeted. the kitchen flooring stops before where i'd be putting the stud base

    Hi, I'm going to frame and fill this old doorway. My question is would it be better to remove what's left of the plasterboard sheet (up to the tape) and re-sheet with a whole new sheet, or to just cut an appropriate size for the gap? my concern is that what's left of the existing sheet is not...
