    Dulux Floorshield paint not drying

I've repainted my floorboards using Dulux Floorshield. (I do this every couple of years.) This time I used some CT1 sealant beforehand in some of the gaps between the boards and the paint is not drying very well, if at all, in these areas. (It's dry everywhere else.) From doing a bit of research...

Replacing old floorboards - 16mm thick, 165mm wide

There are no T&Gs. The existing boards are all square edged. I'd be happy with off the shelf 16mm but I can't find any!

Replacing old floorboards - 16mm thick, 165mm wide

Forgot to add that the boards will be painted, so will be visible. So would be good to have as neat a finish as possible (rather than making do with 18mm). Thanks.

Replacing old floorboards - 16mm thick, 165mm wide

I need to replace some old split floorboards. I'm struggling to find any timber that will do the job as the boards are only 16mm thick, which seems quite an odd size. Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to find any - or any alternative options? Would greatly appreciate any input...

Screwing plywood to floorboards - screws not going flush

Just to say I've been to Srewfix this morning (I found out there was one about five minutes from my front door that I didn't know about) and bought everything as suggested and the screws are flying in! The most fun I've had in ages! Really appreciate the advice from everyone and your...

Screwing plywood to floorboards - screws not going flush

Yes, I've tried both gears. Sometimes the screws just turn round and round, other times they just won't budge any further, and sometimes the drill just slips off the screws. I've tried various combinations of speed and torque settings... Sometimes I get the clicking noise but this disappears...

Screwing plywood to floorboards - screws not going flush

No, they're not. They're zinc-plated wood screws, plusdriv csk. 8 x 3/4. I'm still struggling. Just had another attempt with a fully-charged up drill, and tried a number of different speeds, but still no joy!

Screwing plywood to floorboards - screws not going flush

No, actually I wasn't! I'm an amateur... Is slow speed the key?

Screwing plywood to floorboards - screws not going flush

Hi, this should hopefully be a straightforward query. I'm putting some 6mm plywood on top of floorboards prior to installing some vinyl. I'm using 3/4 inch screws and have drilled a series of pilot holes to help. However, I'm really having difficulty making the screws sit flush to the ply. In...

Kitchen worktop - stainless steel edging

I bought some Ikea worktop the other day but I want to put a different edging on it - stainless steel, or stainless steel effect. The worktop is square edged. Any ideas where I could go? I've tried a couple of places and they've said they'll only supply the edging if I'm buying the worktop...
