Could someone tell me how to get a door seal off the above washing machine?

Hi My bauknecht washing machine has a leak at front due to rip in rubber seal at the front of the drum. It is low down so leaking. I wondered if I could turn the seal around so the rip was at the top and so less likely to leak. Any idea if this would work or how to do this?
