starts up fine just the judder and smoke thats the problem

water and oil levels seem ok but like i say upto now only done around 40 miles. will have to see when i'm back at work tommorrow as normally involves alot of travel.

not sure about it useing oil as only had the car a couple of days and not really been anywhere yet done around 40 miles in it. the smoke looks white.

escort ghia tdi judders quite a bit when idleing and when revved produces alot of smoke but when driving nothing :? any ideas thanks

hello new on here and not that mechanically minded so please bear with me. have just purchased an escort tdi and when i put it into second it makes a grinding noise like i havnt selected gear properly. strange as it doesn't happen when selecting any other gear. any advice would be welcome thanks.
