sorry,,,iv just went and checked the light to make sure,,there is 2 cables comin out of strip light,,,both cables contain red, black and a copper thread,, its a 4 foot double strip light

i was givin a double fluorescent strip light,at a loose end with the wirin,, i plan to just run it straight into a plug,is this ok ?and it has a red and black wire only,,which one is the live lol,,thanks if any1 can help me out :)
