After no problems,the thermostat for the oven seems to have gone.Gas comes on and stays at one level.Is this a thermostat problem or something simpler.If it is thermostat, which is my best course of action?

I recently had cause to turn the gas off,when i turned it back on i lit the pilot light for the boiler but it will not flash up .I have it on the highest setting as per instructions but no joy. It is a Stelrad Ideal W ,RS450
