    Just looking at the CU more closely and its going to have to be replaced, maximum load of 60A and it already has 3 30A fuses plus a 15A and a 5A aswell which is too much load already without adding a cooker point aswell. I dont know who did the wiring here but it seems to me the CU was never up...

    On the plate at the front its rated as 10kw total output and on the back plate it states that it must be connected to a 30 Amp cooker point

    This is an old wylex box with the mains switch rated at 60 amp and the cooker is rated at 30 amp so would i not be able to use 6mm cable and a 32 Amp MCB?

    If you have tried two remotes for the correct model of VCR and still no joy it may well be that the IR sensor is faulty, i seem to have had quite a few recently, they all seem to be fairly similar these days so finding a second hand one shouldnt be a problem regards Jay
