its been repaired once and has started leaking so i thought simple job just change it how wrong was i ?

no -just a piece of 40mm pipe comming down from the sink then a bottle trap then the pipe goes through the wall to the drain.

im trying to replace a 40mm trap all the ones i can find screw onto the underside of the sink i have a piece of pipe from the sink to the trap can some one tell me what i need thanks jj
