    Poor pressure from thermostatic mixer

Thanks everyone for input - did some more testing and... I think that it could be the shower head.. Measuring the rates has led me to determine: 10l/m directly from mixer. 10l/m from end of hose (without head on). 6.6l/m from shower head. Cheap shower head! Can anyone recommend a shower head...

    Poor pressure from thermostatic mixer

OK, so kitchen sink flow rate is 10.5l/m @ about 60 degrees C. Shower flow rate is 6.6l/m @ same temperature.

    Poor pressure from thermostatic mixer

Hi It's a 10cm diameter shower head, not sure of the make. Fairly cheap though, about £15 for the head. There are only two of us in the house so combi boiler is fine - the boiler easily supports two showers at the same time, but my question was more about whether anyone had an opinion on...

Extending a washing machine waste hose

Only reason I ask, is that when trying to push it onto the spigot the plastic hose and the spigot are exactly the same width and it just doesnt want to go on..

Extending a washing machine waste hose

Hi Bosswhite OK, so just to confirm, on my picture I cut ALL the rubber end off? So the end of the hose is the plastic section - no rubber left on at all? Can I jubilee it like that?

Extending a washing machine waste hose

Hi Bosswhite I have bought one of these: http://www.diy.com/departments/plumbsure-outlet-hose-dia21mm/178413_BQ.prd So are you saying to connect the end that is on the right of the picture as you look at it, to the machine hose, and the other end (the bit with the 'collar') to trim down and...

Extending a washing machine waste hose

Hi everyone This is probably a fairly straightforward question but I am a reasonable DIY-er and I must be missing something... Bought a new washing machine that came with a short hose. There is a 17mm outlet on the sink trap to connect to, but hose is too short. So I bought another hose and...

Help with Roof Flashing between two buildings

HI Frank Thanks for your reply. I think I understand, do you mean something like this: I'm not sure I follow what you mean with having wider flashbanding so it raises the bottom edge of the cladding? Can you clarify? Also, how could I go about splaying the bottom edge of the...

Help with Roof Flashing between two buildings

Hi there This is quite a tricky one to describe so I have drawn a picture: We have just built a timber framed garden office as it were, right next to our garage. The building is currently clad in OSB. Our intention is to clad across the fronts of both buildings in pressure treated...

Some insulation advice on a garden office/gym/bedroom

Thanks princeof for the link. This is some very comprehensive info - maybe a bit much for me to digest as it is just going to be an occasional structure. If it were a house or extension it would be 125-150mm of boards all round.. I just wondered whether using it as a gym in winter and...

    Vaillant Central Heating problem

Hi dangermouse thanks for your reply. is there any reason it works with HW but not CH? If i persist with the CH (by pressing reset button about 5 times after it has locked out after 3 times) it will sometimes come on: is it advisable to keep resetting it from tis F.28 lockout? Thanks

    Vaillant Central Heating problem

Hi there I have a Vaillant TurboMax plus 824 Diplomat - it is about 4 years old now. At the moment I am having a problem with getting the Central heating to come on. The boiler ignites fine with demand for HW, however it nearly always goes to a lock out with F.28 when trying to fire for CH...
