    Not sure if to pay the guy who fitted them, they have yet to leak when it rains but do leak if i hose the roof above them, they are on a slate roof that should weather well. they are 24 x 12 slates, he says hose is not fair assessment.

    Having helped a local electrician installed around 40 pv installations, i will say he always employs a roofer[me] and a structural engineer as part of the package and we have beefed up the rafters on the majority of these roofs.

    acrapol [£40-£50] painted down it may fix it for now but that sounds a reasonable price to replace the valley if hes going to replace with lead, you didnt say how long it is.

    This wouldnt have been my first choice but as i said i wanted to get on yesterday, with time on my hands id have definately got a makita but it is only for home use.

    Yes, there only50-60 quid on e-bay but it done the job ive been struggling with easily, ive spent £25 on bits for the other drill besides ive got kitchen and bathroom tile to strip so the chisel action will be handy, im happy with my purchase.

    i got a bosch pbh 2000 xcel and drilled more holes in a couple of hours with 1 bit than i have with a dozen bits in the last 2 days, got it at b+q as i wanted to get on, was £85 with 15% discount today good value i think

    i have a makita hammer drill which im drilling holes in concrete block and have got through quite a few drill bits and some hole are hard work , would it pay me to invest in an sds drill and would this make life easier.

    the chimney was felt and battened over useing breather felt. the ceilings have only just been put back up and insulation will b added later

    ive got a straight up and over roof and just had a chimney remove on the gable under roof level cant take it right down as its part of the gable wall and is built in and outside making it 18inches - 2ft thick now when it rains water is pouring down inside bedroom walls

    The house is currently empty apart from ground floor flat, it being renovated, roofer has a good reputation and 30yrs experience and says he 99.9% sure his roof isnt leaking and also says its condensation i just dont want to put ceiling up til im sure
