sorry, i dont know, it looks around 10/12mm but i could be totally wrong. i have now asked them to fit another rad when they fit the room stat next week. i will then see i that does the trick

gigz the room is not too big as they are only small houses, but its open plan, where the stairs are in the living room. Rad is a big one but only single, not a double

Graham The trv has nothing obstructing it at all,its totally clear, the closest item to it is our sofa which is about a foot away

clive Trvs are all fine,,, i have had the engineers out numerous times and even them theirselves dont know what is going on and have never come across it before. My boiler is ferrolli and i only have 5 rads coming off it. they are all only single ones, 4 big and 1 small

Graham yes the pipes are warm and as soon as you take the trv completely off and press down the pin, the heat starts gushing through again. I will try everything you have mentioned. Glad everyone mentioned the room stat as they only mentioned it to me today and saids they would fit 1...

they do seem to have tried alot of things and they themselves said they have never come across this situation in all the years of business, but iuts obvious that something is not right somewhere along the line

thank u D!! I was unaware of the room thermostat but they are coming next week to fit one, free of change. They engineers decided on the size and quants. I just said i needed a system and for them to price it up for me. They come and quoted by measuring up etc, so i put my faith in...

jack also they have changed the trvs twice now and it still makes no difference. They have also changed the valve too

i came on here for advice, not to be belittled. I have tried it and it still goes off. But with all due respects i would rather not have to turn itr down, as i had a system fitted to keep me warm, not just for the rads to hang on the wall and look good

no didnt get a room stat. Its only a 2bed house and its a small modern house, u know what they are like, tiny things. Well they said next week. So do you think a room stat will sort the problem?

they are coming next week to fit a room stat to see if that will rectify the problem. Its anniying as i paid 2200 for system a nd it hasnt worked. its all brand new and is only 3 weeks old

if i turn the boiler down though, will it still get my room hot? The room is a great temp when the boiler is on full and the trvs have been taken off. If the trvs are on, then the lliving room rad will go cold after 1 hour. yet its the biggest room. i have the same rad in both my bedrooms...

the system hasn't been installed illegally. They fitted it with trvs on 4 of the 5 rads, but i have had to remove them as its the only wa i can get them all to stay hot.. I am more than aware of the builing regulation requirments regarding trv's as i have contacted corgi direct

god i am confused ,because it does not open again unless u push the pin on the valve down. but if you keep the trvs off, they stay on. The trvs are on 6 and the boiler is on its max too. they are the only temp things i have. Do you think if i put another rad in and lowered my boiler...

yeah , thats what they told me..... but i dont know anyone elses rads that do that. Is there any trv that can go higher? As when it shuts off, the room drops and goes chilly but the rad dosent come back on. Should they engineers have fitted a bigger rad to keep the room hot if this is the...

& we are only cold when the trv's are on and the rads go cold

thats why i posted the 1st topic to start with, so that maybe...hopefully ....someone would be able to shed some light and let me know if they are telling the truth or if its a load of rubbish
