How to Clean wall before painting?

Thanks for the advice. Too late i guess for a change of filler. Will try to use a dry cloth to clean the dust off the repaired areas, as a desperate solution. Thin slightly...you reckon something like 80/20 (paint/water)?

How to Clean wall before painting?

I think i stumbled across a problem. I spent the past 2 days preparing a room for painting, by repairing any small cracks and recesses into the existing painted wall (i used a ready mixed filler). When it came to wiping off the dust with a lightly wet cloth today, i realised that parts of the...

    Banging Noise from CEntral Heating

Thanks. Makes sense now that you explained; and i think that's the culprit as I can hear water actually boiling in there before the noises start. I guess its beyond my capabilities; I'll accept defeat and call an electrician tomorrow to sort it out :) Annoying thing is that i couldn't find...

    Banging Noise from CEntral Heating

Ok...the noise sounds scary so I thought I would get some advice before calling an engineer tomorrow to have a look. I fitted a new thermostat and i fired up the boiler and everything seemed to work fine. Half an hour later i turned it off and on again, and i started to get really loud banging...

Outside wall crack - Advice Required

Thanks for your replies. I tried to find a picture that shows the sill from a distance, but I couldn't find any in my camera. As far as I remember there wasn't anything looking unusual (apart from crack shown, and the damage to the render). I will visit the property and get some more pics...

Outside wall crack - Advice Required

First post on the forum, in need of some advice with regards to a property that I plan to purchase. There is a crack (see pic below) under the bay window on the front-facing outside wall. On the inside wall i could not identify any cracks, or pathched-up areas under the paint (as far as I could...
