    Bath edge not straight

It was from Victoria plumbing who are crap to contact, waiting for their technical department to reply but not holding my breath. Just fitted a trajan bath that was curved on shower screen side, didn't spot until in, in my own house and son soaked floor on first shower So not keen to fit this...

    Bath edge not straight

Hi, fitting a Milan L Shaped bath and have spotted the top surface the hinged shower screen sits on isn't very flat, it has a curve in it with 6mm gap at wall and and about 3mm at L point. I've attached pictures. I personally think this is too much of a curve to fit, what's others opinions? Thanks

    Low profile down lights

Hi Ban-all-sheds, it's as apex on the left. That's not a bad idea, I'll have a look at how it would look. Cheers

    Low profile down lights

Hi, beam is 100mm wide and the ceiling will be white when finished.

    Low profile down lights

Hi Berardgreen, panel looks good, but we have a vaulted ceiling so would need one either side, and they may look a tad cumbersome. As it's a insulated vaulted ceiling with a glulam beam running down the middle we have 2 options. Either down lights as should be able to squeeze 50mm depth in...

    Low profile down lights

Hi, cheers for reply. Might be able to get 50mm in, depends on any gap required at back. Thanks

    Low profile down lights

Hi Morticer, did you find a solution to your down light problem, as I'm looking for shallow down lights as well. Cheers

    Flashing Soakers with Profiled Tiles

Using 240mm lead, about 165 over tile so that it goes into lower bit of profile and 75mm upstand, so should be water tight!

    Flashing Soakers with Profiled Tiles

Ok, cheers for reply. Walking around there's plenty of profiled tiles with soakers and didn't spot to many people crying that their roof wouldn't stop leaking - and I live in Wales

    Flashing Soakers with Profiled Tiles

Cheers for reply Roofspecialistslondon. As I've fitted the cavity trays with pre-installed short lead I've got no choice but to use soakers, or remove lead from trays and replace, which isn't really an option. Assume there isn't really a problem with soakers apart from uglyness, which isn't a...

    Flashing Soakers with Profiled Tiles

Hi, just finishing off my roof on an extension. I've fitted cavity trays with short lead as my BC guy said he wanted soakers on the tiles. The only thing is that I'm using profiled tiles (Redland Renown), which apparently shouldn't have soakers, just stepped flashing. Is it still fine to use...

    Rafter Tolerance

Cheers for replies. To be honest it wasn't even 2mm in the end, just looked bigger. I couldn't find a spec for allowable tolerance anywhere online when I looked! The wall that was previously built for the extension definitely wasn't built with close tolerances in mind, the guy must of been...

    Rafter Tolerance

Ok, cheers for reply. Engineer by trade and 2mm would be 'it's a scrapper!', so half torn between what I've seen  , and what I expect the BC guy is going to want to see. Got to relax a bit more :D

    Rafter Tolerance

Hi, I'm just finishing building a cut roof. I wondered what the allowable deviation is between rafter heights. They're all basically level, but I've cut my last one and its about 2mm below adjacent ones. Is this acceptable, and what is the acceptable deviation? Any answers much appreciated as...

    Rafter to Ridge Beam connection

Thanks Catlad, would you put just 2 nails one either side, or 4 in 2"x5" rafters. Cheers

    Rafter to Ridge Beam connection

Hi, just about to start putting my cut roof on a single story extension. I'm having a vaulted/cathedral roof, with a glulam beam as the ridge beam taking the load. I'm cutting the rafters (5" x 2") so about 2" sits on top of the beam and 3" butts up against it. Not sure best practice for...

    UPVC WINDOW SMALLEST FRAME PROFILE

Which UPVC manufacturer makes the smallest frame profile to give the maximum glazed area, or are they all basically the same - i.e roughly 100mm from frame edge to edge of glazing (casement window fully opening).

Narrow frame for max glass width

Hi all, I have to replace a small window in a cupboard I'm turning into toilet. The window measures 280w x 780h and the building inspector wants a fully opening window. My problem is that with a fully opening window the plastic is going to be about 90mm either side only leaving about 100mm...

    Vaillant Ecomax 828 Noise?????

OK, , cheers for that, will have a go at cleaning it out first, although will get someone round to check ratios as well. Not sure if I might have been my own worst enemy. The pipes for heating originally went upstairs, across the house, down the wall back downstairs and then around downstairs...

    Vaillant Ecomax 828 Noise?????

Hi Bazdaman, cheers for reply. Someone stated on another thread that if its the combustion ratio's it will sound as bad or worse outside, but it certainly sounds worse inside. I had another listen and its a loud vibrating sound that's quiet with low burn/demand but the more the tap is on and the...
