Im just trying to figure out what its going to cost and see if it fits in with my budget. (Im allowing about £140k to cover the build & planning/legal fees.) The land is already owned.
I'd be laying the floors myself apart from the kitchen/bathrooms. Id be doing the painting/decorating. That...
Hi im considering building a 1600 sq/ft bungalow country dwelling.
Does anyone know what the average cost is per sq/ft?
I assume prices in Northern Ireland may vary from the UK mainland, but surely not by much if any.
Do the prices include electrics/plumbling/kitchen & bathroom...
Sorry I should add that the roof is covered with slates, not tiles. Its the supercem sort. The ridge tiles are the same colour and seem to be made of the same thing.
Our bungalows roof seems to require a lot of work. Most of the rafters from the top and running down a few foot are quite damp.
I think its all coming from the ridge tiles somehow, but I don't really know how to be sure. Is there a way of telling for sure where its coming in from?

I need a saw that would be used for cutting long lengths of wood for door frames and for fascia boards.
Would a circular saw be best or what other types would you recommend?
Can someone tell me how much chainsaw oil youre supposed to use on a Husqvarna 50?

Thanks

Will this mean theres no point in appliyng the finish coat or can I still proceed?
Any...
Thanks again, I'll go with what you say.

Cheers noseall. I have posted a question about "scuding" on a thread elsewhere on this forum but I may aswell ask it here instead....
Parts of the wall are down to the bare brick so do I have to scud the brick before putting on the scratch coat?
I have to render part of the walls on the outside of my house and I am wondering is it ok to do this sort of job at this time of year? Will I need to wait longer than normal for drying?
The old render seems to be about an inch or so thick so the new render will be the same.
Any help...
