Clonking New motorized zone valve (2 way)

Seems like I'm going to have to drain down the system and switch the valve around. I'll let you know if this works. Thanks for the advice.

Clonking New motorized zone valve (2 way)

the arrow is pointing up - away from the cylinder, towards the pump

Clonking New motorized zone valve (2 way)

I put it in the same way up as the old one - but admit, I didn't check the arrow on the side. How do I know if it's the right way - the pipe comes from the bottom of the HW cylinder into the bottom of the valve?

Clonking New motorized zone valve (2 way)

I recently posted on the forum a query regarding hot water getting too hot and eventually resolved this by fitting a new zone valve, as the old one was apparently stuck open. Whilst this has fixed the problem with overheating the water, there is another problem since fitting the new valve...

    Water too hot!

After a bit of head scratching and trial and error, I have fixed the problem! As suspected, the new valve was wired to the board incorrectly. The grey and orange wires have been swapped over and the problem is solved.

    Water too hot!

I'll need to check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure that turning down the thermostat on the cylinder does not stop the boiler from running. I suspect that the new valve is wired up incorrectly.

    Water too hot!

The pump and boiler are running - but as it should, only when the programmer is set for the heating and hot water to come on. The problem before the new valve was fitted was that the boiler and pump continued even when the programmer showed the heating and water as off.

    Water too hot!

Recently I noticed that our hot water was getting far too hot and that the boiler was continuing to heat this after the programmer indicated that the heating and hot water were off. The pump continued to run. The continuous heating and pump running was fixed by fitting a new two-way valve...

Hot water too hot and pump not cutting out

At the moment, the boiler is switched off at the main switch and only turned on when we need heating in the evening and early morning. Otherwise, it is firing continually.

Hot water too hot and pump not cutting out

Not sure which one is the hot water one, but both levers are faily loose.

Hot water too hot and pump not cutting out

There are two of those. Presumably it needs replacing rather than repair?

Hot water too hot and pump not cutting out

The hot water from our gas fired central heating system has in the past week got very hot. Also, the central heating pump continues to operate after the timer has switched off the hot water and central heating. The boiler is also continuing to heat the hot water after this is 'off'...
