i have a ferroli domi compact 30b, and i want to know how to go about replacing a safety thermostat???

ariston a23 mffi combi boiler i have just replaced the diverter valve on this boiler, as the water wouldnt work but thats fine but now when i turn on the central heating, the boiler is fine, when it waits for the pipes to cool because it is hot it dosnt come back on?? what could be the problem?
