Hey there, no worries and what great luck!

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

Unfortunately there's no detailed information on the electrical components installed onto the parts like the fan. Sometimes Miele appliances have a wiring diagram printed and inserted into the lid - there might be more information available via that route.

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

Yep, there's a relay. Should be located on a power control PCB located somewhere behind the control panel according to the diagram I've seen. I'm not really sure I trust it though as on other Miele dryers the unit is mounted at the top right hand side mid way between front and back of machine.

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

I think the LEDs flashing are just the way the machine shows service faults like cooling fan is open circuited. The machine is very limited in the way it can indicate this so encodes error codes using panel LED combinations. >>It would be advantageous to know if the cooling fan does or does not...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

Yeah, what you wrote is logical re the fan starting at a set time into the normal programme. I'll always buy Miele because I like their approach to designing products with the kind of integrated fault finding features being discussed here. I've definitely had a few faults with them over the...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

    >>It didn’t trip on the heating test cycle as the cooling fan circuit would be isolated . You mean it didn't trip on the heating only test cycle? If so, then yes the fan would have been isolated from that test. I would follow Harry's advice and disconnect the fan and run the fan only test to...

Miele Dishwasher filling and draining repeatedly (F12)

I've not had a look at the first video so apologies if I'm repeating what's already posted. F12 is registered during water intake from mains supply problems. The machine detects whether the right amount of water has been taken on by recording pulses from the flow meter reed switch. These...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

No probs. Firstly I would double check the wiring all the way from the fan to the board that it plugs in to, will be tricky but could easily be a broken wire. The test mode will trigger the fan relay exactly the same way the cooling programme does, therefore the scope of this test includes the...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

    >>This machine is in the land of “Downunder” (the controls are at the bottom of the machine ) lol. Since you get the flashing Drying LED when pressing Start and Short, Miele refers to this in the various service mode procedures as a Novo Basic model. Once in that mode, moving the programme...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

Interesting, I've not seen a Miele with the M-Nr not present. Looking at your profile, this machine is not in the UK or an EU market? I believe the instructions to get this into service mode are as follows: 1. Switch off machine, set programme dial to Finish 2. Close door 3. Press and hold...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

There should also be a reference on that label to a M-Nr or sometimes called a Mat-Nr. The Nr. you have posted above I think is the serial number of the machine.

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

Yes that is correct, Miele in my opinion is one of the best manufacturers to provide diagnostic capability via the front panel - usually it goes further than just producing error codes and can also activate functions such as spin the drum for 20 seconds. Unfortunately though, the instructions...

Miele T494C Dryer Possible Earth Leakage

Can you confirm the exact model of the machine, is it a Novo Basic/Midi/Plus or a Novo Super? I'm not an expert on the model but believe there is a service mode that might help pin point if it its the drive motor or not.

Best way to extend cable with is just entering a junction box?

There's definitely no slack when you grip onto it with pliers? Sometimes you get lucky. Any chance of accessing the floor above to run a new cable down?

    Wooden Floor Preparation for Tiling

I used the 6mm Hardie boards over my chipboard bathroom floor and has worked really well for me. I didn't glue them down, just used the screws. Tiled over the top with thick porcelain tiles and has been fine for 7 years or so. My only regret is not fitting underfloor heating. Insulation board...

What is this plastic pipe fitting?

Looks like a type of air admittance valve.

    Yet another nail gun question

I'd be concerned too that 2nd fix nails don't have enough hold for external cladding. For a large shed I built, I used short ring shank nails to secure it without a gun. 2.6mm diameter or thereabouts. If you've got a lot of framing to do then I wouldn't hesitate to get a 1st fix gun. I have the...

miele washer dryer wt2670 fan blows warm air continously once the machine is switched on and never stops.

Probably a stuck relay on a control board. If you can get access to it a few taps of a screwdriver might unstick it if that's the cause. Obviously I recommend doing this with appliance isolated from mains power.

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

Good news, one less appliance in the scrap heap. I read somewhere that the pump can become a bit noisy if water is completely drained from it e.g. through lack of use or replacement. Maybe give it a few full cycles to see if it quietens down.

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

No probs, I'll send an instant message. By the way, you can order parts direct from miele.co.uk which is pretty good.
