Perhaps it was too cheap, but the replacement quote of £450 seemed way too high! It's leaking from the side entry point of the heating coil, and from the large top union of the immersion heater. Thanks for your responses

What's a fair price for having a hot water tank replaced? I had a 42" X 18" tank fitted in 1996 at a cost of £175.08. It now needs replacing.
