ok wierd one this i took the pump apart to check it, it seemed fine wasnt really dirty or anything put it back on and the house pretty much instantly warmed up all rads nice and hot 10 times better than it ever has been in 4 years since i put it all in!

also just to check do you know how long do central heating pumps normally last this ones a grundfos 15/50 its about 4 years old

thought it could be slugged up system as its a pretty old house and most of the rads are old but ill stick that new pump in tomorrow and see how it goes, do you know if it the cleaner stuff you put in the system then flush out is any good or is it worth paying for someone to come do it properly?

Thats next im borrowing a new pump fri, the upstairs rads near the pump get hot but downstairs are cold could this be down to the pump? although the return pipe into the boiler is warm so water is getting right round the system

Wondered if anyone could shed any light on this subject, my potterton is locking out but only when the temp control on the boiler is turned right up its fine on about 50%, so far ive changed the pcb twice, over heat thermistat and the thermister, any ideas anyone?
