I have a problem with a flow switch on my worcester oil boiler. If I remove the flow switch, electrically, until I can get a replacement will the boiler work okay. Will I get hot water and heating?

I discovered that my Worcester Heatslave 20/25 boiler had a leaking Flow switch. I have been unable to obtain a replacement yet, but the plumb center advised me to try some pfte tape. I have tried this and while the leak is not as bad it still exists. However, now my hot water is not firing up...
