radiator filling with air/gas - new boiler

Thanks for your quick reply Bon. They did replace some of the radiator valves with TRVs but all of these have been checked and replaced again.... there is no obvious leak from any of them. Only the valves and the boiler were changed the rest of the system is original and there was no leak before...

radiator filling with air/gas - new boiler

I had a new Baxi condensing combi boiler fitted 18 months ago and ever since the bathroom radiator has been filling with gas or air (takes about 2 weeks to go cold after bleeding). I've had the company back loads of times but they seem to be at a loss as to what's causing it. Some of their...

    new boiler,new location,old pipes

Thanks for your reply Dave. I must admit after 5 months, 15 visits and numerous phonecalls I'm beginning to give up!! Can anyone on the forum recommend a central heating specialist in York who I can ask to come in and look at the job and give me an independent assessment? After your advice I'd...

    new boiler,new location,old pipes

Thanks for replies. This was a boiler replacement done under the Gov Warmfront Grant programme and so the installer was appointed by them. Although they've been very helpful (I've had approx 15 visits from various engineers and plumbers from the firm to try and sort out several problems!!) There...

    new boiler,new location,old pipes

My old combi boiler has been removed from upstairs and a new Baxi condensing combi fitted downstairs in the garage. The plumber has capped off the old pipes (a hot and cold leading off in one direction and a hot and cold leading off in the opposite direction) and left them dangling (as they no...

Is it pipe expansion or not?

All 3 bedroom radiators and the bathroom one seem to be as bad - clearly it's being transmitted from somewhere and the rads are amplifying it?? The pipes and rads are the existing system and haven't been touched - only the boiler is new. There was no noise before so presumably the pipes had...

Is it pipe expansion or not?

Well, not a quiet click - more of a rapid "donk donk donk" kind of noise which continues for a minute and then stops. then the whole thing starts again 4 minutes or so later. If it IS expansion, why does it get worse when the heating's been on for a while?

Is it pipe expansion or not?

I've had a new Baxi boiler fitted in Oct. The old boiler was upstairs and the new is downstairs in the garage.I never had any noise from the old system but now I'm getting noises in the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs which the plumber says is pipe expansion. They've just re-done the power flush...

air in radiators but no pressure drop

I've recently had a new combi boiler fitted and a power flush plus 4 trvs fitted. There have been several problems since. Several of my radiators are filling with air on a regular basis and are therefore cold. It has been suggested that I have a leak on the system but my question is - wouldn't...

    noisy heating system- possible leak?

Thanks so much for your replies! I wasnt in when they flushed the system and fitted the valves but it didnt seem to take as long as i had been told it would and the plumber told me it wasnt very sludgey at all(despite never having been flushed). The 3 valves upstairs are fitted on the return...
