anyone,what is the correct way to fit new limestone fire surround,hearth and insert. gas conection is going to be done by corgi fitter any help welcome

i wish to fit new fire surround, it has two legs ,a mantel , a slate hearth and metal insert. Is this a diy job to fit,what is the best way to go about it. All gas work will be done by corgi regitstered fitter. thanks
