its now fixed , the tank was at an angle ,so the overflow was above the lip of the tank, so it just poured out over the lip, (house that jack built)

i think the basic problem is how hot the fire is and what coal they are using, they have started using some new coal and have the vent set at its lowest setting as it burns to fast otherwise, the other coal used to burn at a number 5 setting, if the setting is set to high the water will actually...

i am not currently at my mothers and will post the details if i can find them as the system is over 20 years old, the new rad is 5800 btu and i will find out what the other btus are for the other 2 rads.

you do realise this is a solid fuel system ,the only way the boiler don't work is if the fire is out. As there is plenty of hot water and is on constantly and was working perfectly , i added another rad and the operating temp of the radiators dropped , so i even out the flow of water through...

because they are all the same temp , flow has been decreased , no radiator is hot than another, that is balanced isnt it . Why ask the question then if you all ready new the answer , i don`t understand?

the f&e and vessell are the same as in your drawing that you posted, so i didnt think id need to draw them. sorry! its quite a simple circuit and i dont know why its not getting hot , do u think i should take a tee from the main flow rather than the end of the radiator, but would that mean i...

thats the way it has been done apart from the pump is on the flow ,pushing it along.

    back boiler and radiator

its a two pipe system entering rads on 1 side and continuing to next and then next , ect , return is the same, so i can turn the first 2 rads off and maintain the flow through the last rad, i think that is a series or am i wrong ???
