Recommendations needed for a reliable boiler/central heating repair guy in the North London area? I know there are cowboys out there, so can people recommended someone or a company they've used before in or around North london?

If I get someone in to replace the filling loop, how much (roughly) will I expect to pay for the repair?

I don't think they are on my boiler. There are coloured valves right under the boiler to 5 different pipes. A few inches below 2 of the pipes is the filling loop which connects 2 of the pipes together. All 5 valves for each of the pipes are in a line (at the same level). If I took out the...

I think the filling loop is fine. Had troubles trying to turn both valves to it. May be the valves themselves are the problem?

I had the same problem. Check the pressure, see if it's below 1bar? If it is you will need to add pressure via the 'filling loop'.

My Fer falcon combi boiler has been on the blink. I got some advice here as the boiler had insufficient pressure, so I tried to add pressure via the filling loop last night, and two things happened. I turned the valves to the filling loop, but nothing as I'm aware happened, no water sound...

There are no black knobs. The braided hose is connected to both pipes by large metal nuts which I can't phyiscally turn. If i did manage to turn these the hose would come off! But there is a red and blue coloured knobs a few inches away from the hose which come off both pipes where the hose is...

Do you know how to do this? There are about 6 pipes running from the boiler, each has a coloured knob. The one's which connect to the 'filling loop' are red and blue. Is it these I need to loosen to allow water into the boiler?

I am currently freeezing, and need advice desperately... My Fer falcon combi boiler has 'insufficient pressure', it's down to 0.3bar when off, then only rises to 0.6bar when on. But it only turns on for about 5 seconds then shuts off and a green light flashes (which when I look at the manual...
