    retaining wall weep holes

Hi all I've had a builder build a retaining wall double width. I asked him to ensure it had weep holes with gravel backfill to let any water through. So he built what looks a decent wall. But he's put weep vents in the front skin of brick, the kind of weep vents you put in a cavity...

Downpipes 92.5 degree Vs 112.5 degree

Hi All I'm replacing my guttering and downpipes. I ordered all the stuff I needed but accidently ordered 92.5 degree connectors to offset from the guttering (currently it's 112). My question is, is there any problem with me using the 92's instead of the 112's? Thanks

landing light switch suddenly not working correctly?

Following your advice I removed all three switches only to find a wire had somehow come out the back of the hallway switch - I screwed it back in and now all is well. Should have looked at them all in the first place - shouldn't have assumed that wires can't work there own way loose...

    Underground cable + Pick Axe = ??????

Thanks all for your good advice, just to let you know I've just phoned the electricity company and their sending someone out - they say I wont have to pay if the cable isn't buried deep enough - which at 8 - 9 inches I think I can safely say it isn't. Thanks again.

    Underground cable + Pick Axe = ??????

Hi All, I've begun a project laying a new drive where previously I had a lawn, while digging out 8 inches down I struck a cable with my pick axe and sparks flew! The cable is only about half an inch across not the kind of cable I would expect to be supplying my house! Also the depth -...
