That's why I fit an external one when they fail... Same as on other boilers with a failed integral.

I know it's integral on that boiler... It's bloody useless! That's why I said "on external filling loops" I usually cap/put them out of service and use an external replacement - one with a gauge.

On external filling loops, this is why they come with cap ends and the braided hose is meant to be removed when not in use... I was amazed to actually find one in the removed position on a callout at the weekend!

Well, you can make sure they are properly fitted with no twists, kinks or tight radius bends. If they're under stress and/or there's a leak from the sink/basin above, the ss sheathing corrodes, frays and then the rubber inner blisters and gets punctured by the sharp points of the frayed mesh...

My sister and BIL used to live at the top of my road, about 15 doors up. Outside their drive, on the footpath, is an old victorian stench pipe, disguised as a lamp post. The lamp posts have all been replaced with modern ones now so this really stands out as odd and ppl are always questioning...

Spirit of salts used to be perfect but they've diluted that right down now. Got one at the moment that it didn't touch... Still getting brown flakes out of it after treatment then bashing and flushing with mains water... And getting wet as I need to find a good nozzle that will fit the damn...

How old are the houses? Newish estate?
