    All's going well, on hands and knees with steam cleaner, having sprayed with brick cleaning acid and let it soak for a few minutes, cat doing head in........normally asleep all day-not today!!!!

    Would that be patio cleaner or the good old fashioned brick cleaning acid? I will follow the advice of linseed oil for sure as I have seen this a few times. what's the difference between linseed and boiled linseed? As to the restoring of broken tiles I think I will restore/clean all tiles...

    I have just taken the up carpet in the hallway and discovered that my victorian mosaic tiles are still in situe, how do I clean them? There are paint splashes, flooring stuck, I have cleaned them somewhat and they need restoring in places; I think a good floor scrubber might work- I'm very wary...

    bought some slug traps trying to be au naturelle, only problem is it says part fill with yeast beer- keep buying however it doesn't get as far as slug trap!!!     Hotpoint CTD80 LCD display flashes on then OFF- no power

    must have had a blonde day or 2 turns out I had knocked the on/off switch trying to put something on top (this is what i was told) always switched off/on by mains, never used button and it had locked......felt a bit silly, good job it was a friends friend that looked and not the Hotpoint...

    Does anyone know how to kill humanely, if at all possible or maybe deter to another garden! I have a mini allotment/herb garden in back garden and a good bird colony, the slugs eat everything, birds can't keep up- tried the beer trap/grapefruit, didn't work. Anyone got any good suggestions?>

    Hotpoint CTD80 LCD display flashes on then OFF- no power

    :( working perfectly then suddenly stopped mid cycle, since then when plugged in LCD flashes for a sec. then nothing- no power no nothing-is it worth repairing, Hotpoint want £99.98. Every time I plug it in the LCD flashes on for a sec :cry:
